Welcome to the Official Newsletter and Blog of the 1005th CA & PS TNG CO

One of the most valuable tools at the disposal of every soldier, be they active, National Guard, or reserve, are the people to their right and left. Relationships forged by the fires of blood, sweat, tears, and sacrifices (big or small) galvanize faster and stronger than those formed by traditional means. The term "brothers and sisters in arms" means far more to a soldier than anyone else. The bonds of camaraderie and teamwork crucial to any military unit in both training and mission execution environments. A team functioning as a single entity can overcome an individual's weaknesses, while enhancing their strengths. As a member of the US Army Reserve, we often lack the opportunity to forge these bonds with our fellow soldiers. Specifically, the members of the 1005th CA & PO TNG CO find themselves further impeded by the distance most of us find from out contemporaries. Some soldiers live as far as 200 miles away from the unit's home base and most of us are spread out across the Bay Area and Northern California, further inhibiting the frequency in which we are able to remain in contact with our fellow soldiers.

An effective way to maintain a connection with the unit and the happenings in the lives of the soldiers making up the 1005th was deemed necessary by incoming company commander, Maj. Mcalary. By his order, this newsletter was commissioned and will be maintained by myself, SPC Cormack. The mission of this tiny piece of cyberspace we've claimed as our own, is to not just keep soldiers abreast of company and Army affairs, but the hope is tracking the progression of each soldier personally and professionally will remain the primary goal.

If you have something you'd like to share with us, feel free to contact me directly via email or phone. Nothing is too large or small to be shared.
